My family has been frequent patrons of this establishment, but unfortunately, our experience last week has completely changed how we feel about returning. While my husband and daughter were standing in line, my husband politely asked one of the women in a group of school moms if she had cut in front of him. Rather than simply addressing the situation, the interaction quickly became aggressive toward my husband. The owner then came from the back of the establishment and accused my husband of calling one of the women a derogatory name—an accusation that was completely untrue. Following the owner's accusation, the situation became even more hostile, leaving both my husband and daughter feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. More importantly, the level of aggression directed toward my husband made the situation feel potentially dangerous. No customer should have to fear for their safety simply for asking a reasonable question while standing in line. As a parent, it was especially upsetting knowing that my daughter witnessed the entire incident. I had to explain to her that sometimes people may treat others unfairly or with hostility because of who they are. That is a difficult conversation for any parent to have, particularly when the situation appears. The following day, my sister went to the establishment to speak with the owner about what happened. Unfortunately, the owner did not honor the statements or assurances she had made the previous day, which further added to our disappointment. After this experience, I began speaking with friends and family about the establishment. Several people shared similar negative experiences and stated that they were already familiar with what they described as the culture of this establishment and therefore chose not to patronize it. I am deeply disappointed because my family had previously supported this business. However, the way my husband and daughter were treated, the false accusation made against my husband, and the hostility they experienced are unacceptable. I hope the owner takes this complaint seriously and reflects on how customers. Everyone deserves to feel respected, safe, and welcome.

We LOVE Buck's! Followed them from Westwego to Marrero and they are always consistent! Soft ice, great flavors. And the food is so amazing and fresh. Them being open year-round is definitely dangerous for my waistline but worth it!

I was excited to try this establishment because I'd heard great accolades. My daughter and I waited in line for 5 minutes and were ever acknowledged! One worker slipped and looked to see I'd I laughed, but I was too upset too. I'll stick to The Cold Spot. They are family oriented, considerate, cheaper, and have great customer service.
